Personality Development

In order to develop the all-round personality of students the School gives different opportunities:

Public Speaking

Keeping in mind the growing need of developing communication skills and to build the oratory skills of students, different competitions are organized in public speaking such as Poetry Recitation, Just a Minute (JAM) sessions, Elocutions, Declamations, and Debates for different age groups. ‘Star Speakers’ in the daily assembly get the basic exposure of pubic speaking while addressing the whole School.

Quizzing

Quizzes are an important indicator of students’ comprehension and interest in a field. Quiz helps in reinforcing the learning in academic subject areas. On one hand, it quenches the thirst of a student in his/her area of interest and on the other makes him/her more and more inquisitive about it. G.K Quiz, Science Quiz, Math’s Quiz, Social Science Quiz, Spell-Bee, and Computer Quiz are an inherent part of our curriculum and result in making the teaching-learning process more interesting.

Educational Excursions

Trips and Excursions form a major educational element, giving students the chance to build closer bonds with their classmates, experience new environments and enjoy a day away from the classroom. To give adequate exposure to students, adventure camps in collaboration with professional camp operators are organized every year. Visit Wild Life Sanctuaries, National Parks, Historical Monuments, Trekking Camps, Night Camps, and Foreign trips are organized every year. Day trips to Railway Station, Post Office, Parks, Banks, Factories, Power Plants and Agricultural farms are also arranged every year.

Value Education And Life Skills

The school lays emphasis on inculcating moral values among its students. Two of the basic moral values on which due stress is given are Respect and Responsibility. Value Education is conducted as a part of the class activities. Students are given topics based on values like honesty, fairness, tolerance, prudence, compassion, co-operation, helpfulness, self-discipline, courage, etc. to discuss and they are observed and evaluated according to the adoption and reflection of these values in their behaviour. Value cards are used and role-play is conducted to imbibe the values. From the very beginning, the School includes Life Skill Education as an integral part of daily curriculum wherein children are taught about our culture and traditions, yoga, meditation, table manners, health and hygiene, care towards the environment, cleanliness and other basic etiquettes and values. Morning Assembly and School Auditorium (for value-based movies) act as a strong medium for inculcating strong moral values among children.

Group Discussion

Group Discussion and Communicative Skills classes are compulsory for each and every student from Class VI onwards. This develops fluency and accuracy in spoken English with updated awareness of current topics.

Happiness Class

Happiness Class is a part of the school curriculum. It is an initiative to distress students, to bring about a healthier and happier relationship between teachers and students. It is a platform which provides students, to express talent and creativity, ensuring quality and decorum within a prescribed framework.

Environmental Awareness

Today, the environment is conceived in its totality and a holistic approach is designed while planning a better quality of life stressing upon sustainable development. This makes the importance and scope of the study of environment wider in volume and deeper in depth. To make students responsible citizens of the country and to make them aware of different environmental issues they are made to participate in activities like tree plantation, cleanliness drives, rallies, marathon walks, and awareness campaigns. Each class has an “Energy Conservation Monitor” which ensures that electricity is not wasted in the classroom.

Social Service / Empathy Development

In order to sensitize our children towards the under-privileged, visits are organized to institutions for people with special needs. Visits to orphanages, special schools, old age homes, animal shelters are arranged to develop these values.

Reformatory Measures

Reformatory Measures are formulated to help students with behavioral disorders and nonadherence to school rules, regulations, and norms. It is with the belief that the core component of every child is goodness and reformatory measures would reform the child and bring him/her into the mainstream of the class with a better standard of conduct.    So instead of punishments,     we have reformatory measures This is a complete charter of wrongs that have time and again been committed by students and their reformatory measures are implemented. For example; if a student destroys school property, the child is assigned the task of cataloging or covering of books in the library, cleaning of a specified area on campus, preparation of ‘sorry’ or ‘get well’ cards and soon.
